speaking through pictures

I am on an endless journey whose inspiration comes from my emotions combined with the colors of Baja California Sur, so I love to experiment with different techniques that match my path of expression.

I am currently a beneficiary of the Incentive Program for Artistic Creation and Development PECDA 2022-2023 BCS.

In November 2020 I collaborated with 6 other painter colleagues to design and paint the 60 meter long Mural of Gratitude in the municipality of Los Cabos, BCS.

In May 2019 my mural project "Toluca, otomí pride" was selected in the ARTmósferas call organized by the Toluca Secretary of Culture.

In February 2019, my work "El Séptimo Vuelo" was piece of the month at the Museo Virreinal de Zinacantepec.

In November 2015 my work "Day of the Dead" was piece of the month at the José Ma. Velasco Museum in Toluca.

In May 2009 I was selected together with Deyanira África Melo and Marycarmen Castrejón in the Artist Residency Program, organized by the Svendborg Library, Denmark, to develop the project “Sammen selv i døden” (Still deceased together), which consisted of making paintings, photographs, performances, installations and workshops on the tradition of death in Mexico.

In 1996 I received an Honorable Mention in the Costumbrista Photography Contest organized by the Felipe Santiago Gutiérrez de Toluca Museum.

I have had 10 individual exhibitions and participated in more than 50 collective exhibitions in Mexico and abroad.

I belong to the select group of artists from the Jardín del Arte de San José del Cabo, BCS.

 

Some of my works have also been published in magazines such as Castálida of the Ex Instituto Mexiquense de Cultura (now the Secretary of Culture), La Colmena and Revista Universitaria, both from my alma mater: the UAEMex.

 

Some of my works are part of private collections in Mexico, the United States,

Japan, Denmark, England, Uruguay and El Salvador.

Noviembre de 2015: mi obra “Día de Muertos” fue pieza del mes en el Museo José Ma. Velasco de Toluca.

 

En 1996 recibí Mención Honorífica en el Concurso de Fotografía Costumbrista organizado por el Museo Felipe Santiago Gutiérrez de Toluca.

 

Algunas de mis obras se han publicado en revistas como Castálida del Ex Instituto Mexiquense de Cultura (ahora Secretaría de Cultura), La Colmena y Revista Universitaria, ambas de mi alma mater: la UAEMex.

 

Algunas de mis obras forman parte de colecciones privadas en México, Estados Unidos, Canadá, Japón, Dinamarca, Inglaterra, Francia, Uruguay y El Salvador.
